Description
Catchers Camp | January 18
Block Better. Transfer Faster. Improve Your Pop Time.
The catching position demands a unique combination of athleticism, technical skill, quick decision-making, and consistency.
Our Catchers Camp focuses on two important areas of development: becoming a more reliable blocker and improving the movements required to throw runners out.
Players will receive focused instruction on body positioning, reaction efficiency, glove-to-hand transfers, footwork, and throwing mechanics.
Blocking Development
We’ll work on improving a catcher’s ability to get into effective blocking positions, keep the baseball in front, and recover quickly after a block.
Pop Time Development
Players will focus on the movements that contribute to faster, more efficient throws to second base, including transfer speed, footwork, positioning, and release efficiency.
Our goal is to help catchers become more dependable behind the plate while developing the skills needed to control the running game.
